Facts and Statistics

Cafe Buza, Old Town Dubrovnik
By far the best bar on this list. It is located in Old Town Dubrovnik on one of the outer walls. I would put a map here for you, but that would be cheating. The best part of Cafe Buza (the small one, not the larger one located on the other side of Old Town but that one is pretty good too) is trying to find it. There's literally a hole in the wall that is not very well marked you will have to climb through. It sort of looks as if you're going to run into Jennifer Connolly chatting with a small caterpillar about the possibility of having tea with him and his missus. But unfortunately you won't get stuck here singing "Dance Magic Dance" with David Bowie (although that would be a pretty great place to hang out), it's just an awesome bar on the other side. I spent the better part of two days here drinking pints, swimming, cliff diving, and just watching the world go by. In hindsight, maybe seeing more of the city would have been appropriate, but it's too good of a place not to waste a few days at.

Maya Beach Hotel, (just outside) Placencia, Belize
If you're lucky enough to get a chance (if you're not staying here) to stop at this bar, you should take the opportunity and do so. Also, make sure Avi is working when you do happen to stop by, by chance. Because I'm more of a beer person, I was a little skeptical about all of the crazy frozen drinks I saw floating around, but I thought, I'm on vacation, it's warm out, and I'm staring out at the Caribbean, why the hell not.
Let me prepare you for the ending of the story by telling you the restaurant is closed on Mondays and only the bar is open and does not serve food. As it just so happens we were on our way to dinner in town when we stopped for a refreshing cocktail that Avi was so good at making. About five hours and 10 drinks later, we stumbled back up to our room and passed out. Great night.

The Porterhouse, London, England
Although The Porterhouse is located in the ridiculously crowded Covent Garden in London, it's still a great pub. There's a great choice of beer (I wouldn't advise the Christmas Beer even though it's the highest alcohol content on the menu, unless you do like the taste of cough syrup and enjoy massive hangovers following a night of imbibing), usually live music, and a great atmosphere.

HopDevil, Zagreb, Croatia
HopDevil is a great Belgian Pub for some reason hidden away in the basement of a shopping center in Zagreb. Although the location makes you wonder what the hell, the pub certainly makes up for it. It's kind of a creepy gothic-church style decor, with trees, chandeliers, and waterfalls. I was sold the moment I walked in (there might be in an instant, if you decide to visit this pub that you will turn around and bolt when you see it's in the basement of a mall, but continue on, brave soul! it's worth it.) There are over a hundred kinds of Belgian beer in bottles and on tap, I'm not sure I can remember how the food was though....What I can tell you is that we had such a good time here and the beer was so good, we almost missed our train to Slovenia while trying to cross as many beers off of the menu as possible. That's not advisable on your last day in Zagreb...maybe go for the gold on day one.

The Warrington Hotel, London, England
This pub used to be my favorite and would be at the top of the list, but then Gordon Ramsey had to go and buy it and ruin everything. It's still a great place to get a pint, but when you walk up the stairs expecting some delicious food from Ben's Thai restaurant for £5, you will be shocked and appalled to find it's gone and turned into a fancy restaurant. (ok obviously I still hold a grudge because it's been gone for over 3 years and I still haven't gotten over it). When you've managed to pull yourself together and go back downstairs, find a comfy chair by the fireplace and drink your sorrows away.
As a side note Ben's Thai was moved just a couple blocks away to the Robert Browning, which is a nice pub but not as cool as the rumored old brothel that the Warrington is. The food is still just as good, but the atmosphere has changed. Damn Gordon Ramsey.

Pumpkin Pie
Pumpkin pie is the best pie, hands down. Ever. Those who disagree are fools.

Pot Pies
Pot pies are pretty awesome as well. They would score higher on my bar chart, but pumpkin pie is just way too awesome.

Sweet Potato Pie
This is a great alternative for those allergic to pumpkin. It tastes like pumpkin pie so I like it.

Pecan Pie
Pecan pie is not too bad either. It's sweet and crunchy and is full of protein for those that care about that sort of thing. I have it on here because I don't like baked fruit and was running out of pies for the list.

Custard Pie
I'm pretty indifferent either way when it comes to custard pie. It's on the list because I was trying to get a nice sampling from the population of pies in the world.
